New Round of COVID-19 Funding Approved
A new round of COVID-19 funding has been approved and signed by the President. See below overview of the relevant provisions for CHCs. Please note this is an interim relief bill, stimulus 3.5, not be confused with stimulus package 4, which is still under development.
Payment Protection Program: $310 billion additional funding
500 employee cap remains
Funds for Provider Revenue Losses: $75 billion additional funding
Funds are designated for eligible health care providers to cover health care-related expenses or lost revenues that are attributable to COVID-19
HHS recently announced how they will spend the unspent $70B from the first round of CARES Act funding
Starting April 27, health care providers, including health centers, can sign up to be reimbursed by HHS at Medicare rates for testing and treatment of uninsured patients for COVID-19. Providers will be able to start submitting claims May 6 for services administered on or after February 4.
Funds for COVID-19 Testing: $25 billion
$600 million is earmarked for CHCs, including lookalikes
