Accessing COVID-19 Outpatient Therapeutics through Federal SPEED Program
On February 10, 2021, the Primary Care Association Emergency Management Advisory Coalition (EMAC), which CHCANYS Emergency Management co-chairs, was joined by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) SPEED team to discuss availability of monoclonal treatments for federally-qualified health centers (FQHC).
The Special Projects for Equitable and Efficient Distribution (SPEED) program supports direct federal allocation of COVID-19 outpatient therapeutics (i.e., monoclonal antibodies [mAbs]) to priority settings that care for populations at high risk for hospitalization, e.g FQHCs. SPEED is separate and complementary to the state-based mAb allocation system.
The recording of today's call and the resources shared, would be helpful to FQHCs who are interested to learn more about this initiative and how to access it.
